Angeka On The Farm

CREATING A RURAL LIFE.

Welcome to our life.

Posted on June 3, 2007 - Filed Under about us

This is my attempt to document my life on 7 acres in southwest georgia with my husband, 5-year-old son, 7 cats, 8 goats, 14 chickens (unless the rooster croaks after its run-in with Buster the dog yesterday) and, yes, 1 dog. Petunia, the pig in the header used to live with us, but she moved to another farm to have piglets…or so they tell us. We moved here last year, being done with the blech we called home, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Our goal is to grow food that hasn’t been genetically modified, altered or chemically induced; raise lots of animals (horses and buffalo are next on our wish list); and live a more natural, calmer (and hopefully slightly saner) life. We have never done anything like this before. Our current motto is plant the seed, water it and see what happens. As far as the garden goes, it seems to be working, but I suppose this way of thinking applies to more than just growing food.
