Here a horse…there a horse

We did it! We got a horse! Actually 2 horses, but 1 will probably go to another home in the summer. And actually, we didn’t do much to get them except say “yes!” We got a call that a couple needed to get rid of their horses. They couldn’t care for them anymore just wanted someone to come get them…so we did! Well, after we went to visit them to make sure they weren’t psycho or mean. Thankfully, they weren’t. They’re actually quite sweet tempered. They just haven’t had any attention for at least 6 months. And they’re a bit on the skinny side.

The one on the left is a 2 year old gelding. He’s the most friendly and has already rubbed noses with Sonic the donkey…aw! However, he’s not ready to ride as he “ain’t been broke yet.” John got a lesson in the strength of horses while trying to get him in the trailer. He has the rope burns on his hands to prove it. He’s 3 years younger, but just as tall as the 5 year old. He’s going to be a tall boy.

The one on the right is a 5 year old mare. She’s “ride-able”, but we haven’t tried yet. She’ll probably go to another home this summer. She has a beautiful blonde mane like a Barbie pony. I may take a strand with me to the hairdresser for a color match.

They’re both calm around kids and seem happy in their new surroundings. We’re very happy to have them here. Yeehaw!

These two are absolutely beautiful. Yes, the mare is probably the prettiest in the classic horse sense with the blond mane and body color. They are so skinny, but they will round out in no time. Then, you have to watch they don’t overeat. Edna’s horse “Lucky” would steal food from other horse, and really got so overweight Edna could barely put her legs around him to ride! P.S. Wouldn’t Lucky be happy in that big field with another horse! Hope he comes to stay with the new horses (Named….?) for a nice visit!

The horses are beautiful and complete your farm except for maybe another pig. Why are you not keeping they both? Won’t they be lonely?
