To celebrate my birthday (number to remain unmentionable, although Jett says 24 so we’ll go with that), we had our first real party since moving here. I invited everyone we know and like, figuring maybe a few would come. You know the rule, invite 12, expect half at most. Imagine my surprise when everyone we invited, came (!), making my envisioned dinner party of 6-8 (but, again, only ‘cuz I figured few would actually come, not ‘cuz I wanted to have a small dinner party), a full-blown bash of more than 30. Woohoo! Luckily, my mom came up to help with the festivities.
The menu was pasta, sauce, Angeka’s pesto, meatballs & sausage (chicken and turkey, of course), salad, homemade bread compliments of our friend Holly, and scrumptious fresh whipped cream and chocolate wafer cake. Nom, nom, nom.
I’m honored that so many people took the time to celebrate with us. And I look forward to doing it again soon.
HEY!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I would have tried to make the trip down to see you, but I had the BIG 4-0 birthday on the 8th of Feb, and the big 13 yr marriage mark on the 10th of Feb…lol. In NO mood for parties this week….plus no one invited me…sniff, sniff.
I am so glad Aunt Edna gave you my email so I can check out how you are doing. This is really great. We are going to be growning things this year and plan on getting chickens (IF Emery can pick the kind she wants, and Phil builds a home for them). This means I might need to call you for info.
